Founded in Summer 2006, the Dublin Final Cut Pro Users Group was born not just with the intention to share skills and knowledge encompassing the use of FCP, but also to build a community of editors, filmmakers and creative people able to network, learn and professionally grow in the art of storytelling.
We meet a few times a year in Filmbase, a not-for-profit film resource centre placed in Temple Bar, and invite guest speakers from the creative and technical communities to showcase new applications or hardware as well as share their technical or creative expertise. When possible, we also like to hold raffles at these meetings which give our members a chance to win the latest plug-ins, stock footage, webinars, books and post-production software supplied by our guests and sponsors.
Despite the name, this group is not application centric and welcome editors using any of the top editing applications as well as anybody interested in the post-production process. On this site, you’ll find links to articles, blogs and videos on Apple’s Final Cut Pro X, Adobe’s Premiere Pro and Avid’s Media Composer as well as any post-production story that we think might interest you.
